Have you ever heard of postcard embroidery?
It’s been around for a little while, but artist Han Cao takes it to the next level!
I think this piece of hers – Parenthood – reflects how everyone who is trying to homeschool right now is feeling…
Han finds vintage postcards and old photos and embroiders them to create very unique contemporary art. I find it incredibly appealing!
She kindly gave me permission to share a couple of her works with you – I really like this one too. It’s called The Falls, Infused With Sunshine…
All photos belong to the artist. And if you’d like to see more of her work, visit her website here or check out her instagram feed! β₯
This is brilliant! I’ve tried embroidering on paper but never a photo. Love the rainbow heads. :-)
Interesting! I like the post card of Niagara Falls.
These are great cards. I have a lot of them. Something to try with all the time on my hands.
NICE, I have seen some of these but cannot remember where! Thanks for the reminder. Be well
Love the artwork – and wonder how much different working from home would have been when children were well behaved like in your photo and knew they should be seen and not heard :-)
these are so beautiful and inspiring! I have a huge box of old postcards and this post made me really want to break out the embroidery floss. Thanks so much for sharing!
I will have to try that and share with my art class.
Wow thatβs really different, yet beautiful.
Thankyou Celia for sharing such quirky and beautiful artistic endeavour.
There are so many talented people out there and I will definitely follow her on instagram πππ
