. . . . .
I saw this clip on the news recently about a Sydney restauranteur helping Thai students who are struggling under the COVID19 crisis.
Many international workers employed in restaurants here don’t qualify for help under existing government schemes and the food industry as a whole (bless them) has rallied to support them.
The message Jack from Jumbo Thai had for everyone was particularly wonderful – as one hand takes, the other hand gives. That’s how we look after each other and our communities.
Happy Sunday, folks! ♥
Wonderful man. There is a cafe here that is also doing takeaways and they were/are making extra amounts and packing them up and taking them to the local hospital and the meals are delivered with thank you notes to go to the frontline nurses. The first time the owner delivered a box to the nurses, one had come off shift and had worked a very long and difficult day and was just sitting down for a cuppa getting ready to go home and burst into tears when she realised what the cafe owner was doing.
Some of us are taking food and delivering to our local church or community groups who are feeding the students and homeless. If people cannot cook, they can still drop off groceries at certain places to go to folks who need them.
Love your work/blog Celia………
That’s terrific! Thank you for telling me about it, and good on you for supporting your community! x
