Little Christmas G1veaway #2

December 8, 2010 by Celia @ Fig Jam and Lime Cordial

Day #2 of our little Christmas g1veaway, and I have three sets of  12 book darts on offer.  Since I wrote about these in June 2009, we’ve given scores of them to family and friends – they’re the perfect gift for students, teachers and avid readers.  I adore their simple elegance and beauty, and the fact that they work so well!  Most of my cookbooks are now marked up with these – much neater and easier to manage than the yellow post-it notes I used to use.

If you’d like to read more about the book darts, please have a look at our earlier post.  Bob and his team are great people to deal with, and these really do make a wonderful Christmas stocking filler!

Please εnter by leaving a comment below.  All five g1veaways will close on  Monday 13th December 2010 and you’re welcome to εnter all of them.  Thanks for joining in the fun!

I agree- the yellow post it notes are unattractive when you have a bookfull of them.
Dart sounds so much better than arrow- which these would probably be called here.
My son could use these in his law books- and all of his stocking stuffers are either edible or some small piece of clothing- this would make an interesting difference.
Thanks Celia- I like to see your choices for yourg1veaway.

Here they come falling out of the blue
Little arrows for me and for you
You’re falling in love again, falling in love again
    Little arrows in your clothing
    Little arrows in your hair
When you’re in love you’ll find those little arrows everywhere
Little arrows that will hit you once
    And hit you once again
Little arrows that hit everybody, every now and then

Thanks for reminding me of that Leapy Lee tune :)

I was given a link to your blog from someone I met on freecycle. One of these days I plan to try some of your jam recipes – they look awesome! It’s always nice to read Sydney-based blogs.

What a great idea! They will be very useful with my cookbooks. Please include me in the giveaway.
I haven’t left comments on your blog before but have been avidly checking it daily. Thankyou for sharing and providing such pleasure with my cuppa. Btw can’t wait to try your biscottti recipe!

Such a good idea! As an avid reader, with a teacher in the house, I know these would come in super handy!
Would love to be included in the giveaway :)

    Saving post-it note trees!

  8. on December 8, 2010 at 8:27 am Patricia McEntee

these darts are “a good thing” as you-know-who (Martha Stewart) likes to say. But what is sweeter is the idea of giving them away as little gifts to readers – commenters. It makes me feel as if I am back in grade school and we are getting a litte box of hard candy from the principal. Just because it is Christmas. Yay. You have the magic to make us feel like kids. Thanks!!

Thank you all for joining in! I love the book darts – they’re our standard teacher gift every year! :)

I’ve never heard of book darts – what a good idea.

  11. on December 8, 2010 at 10:28 am frances

These sound really handy, always looking for new ideas for our students to help with studies.

I have not seen these before and I love them! As I write this I’m looking at my shelf of cookbooks and they are awash with messy, mutlicoloured post-its in various states of decrepitude! I’ll be keeping an eye out for these darts!

  13. on December 8, 2010 at 11:03 am Claire @ Claire K Creations

These would be a much better alternative to the torn bits of paper I’m using at the moment. They won’t fall out either!

Amazing what some people come up with, I wish I was that thoughtful. Would love to have some of these to play with and share with my family

What a ‘niffty’ idea Celia ~ my sister would love these, she always has her head in a book!

What a fabulous fun and smart way to mark books. I love the neatness of it.

Those are cute, however I have about 300 cookbooks, and 12 just wouldn’t make a dent . Mabe I should buy shares in the company!

  18. on December 8, 2010 at 6:09 pm Lorraine @ Not Quite Nigella

What a clever idea! I just have post it notes everywhere instead lol

  19. on December 8, 2010 at 7:05 pm Lynn

Celia – those are wonderful! I’ve not seen them here in Seattle but I could certainly use them. I am forever finding a recipe in a magazine or book and then forgetting where it was when I want to try it.

I also love looking at your beautiful garden pictures. It is winter here, we’ve already had snow and we had such a cold wet summer that nothing grew this year – except my teenage son. Even my trusty herbs sulked all year long.

Thanks for brightening up my dark winter!

Arghhhh an audio worm! My Mum used to sing that ‘little arrows’ song all the time. Now I need to track it down and listen to it all. Thanks Joanna and Celia for triggering that nice memory :-)

  21. on December 8, 2010 at 11:32 pm Sarah - For the Love of Food

Oh Celia what a brilliant little product. This isn’t an entry because I’ve just gone to their site and bought a stack! Thanks for the tip.

  22. on December 9, 2010 at 4:41 am Manuela

What a lovely idea! I use paperclips and bookmarks all the time, but this looks better. I’m alway losing them, or they fall out. I can see why they make nice teacher’s gifts!

  23. on December 9, 2010 at 5:42 am Celia @ Fig Jam and Lime Cordial

I’m chuffed you’re all as excited by these as we are! Sarah, thanks for supporting them – I bought some recently and the shipping to Australia was only $3!

  24. on December 9, 2010 at 8:55 am Kavey

    How BRILLIANT!
I use either mini yellow post it notes or even ripped scraps of envelopes or scrap paper.
    These are GORGEOUS!

  25. on December 9, 2010 at 4:15 pm Peta

    What a great idea!

  26. on December 9, 2010 at 4:23 pm Deb

These looked so great I couldn’t risk not winning them – so I just bought them from Remo!! Thanks for the heads up!!

  27. on December 10, 2010 at 10:12 am Anna Johnston

Haha… I just looked over at my pile of cookbooks… Yellow Post-It notes galore. Very amusing. I defo need to get my hands on some of these little babies. Thanks for sharing! :)

  28. on December 10, 2010 at 2:55 pm Tommy Dean

Consider this comment a virtual book dart for my entry please ;)

And all good things to you for such a generously lovely idea!

  29. on December 11, 2010 at 2:48 am Frieda

During my teaching years, I was known as the “post it Queen” as I used them for everything. I’m happy that someone got the brilliant idea to make these!

  30. on December 11, 2010 at 9:39 pm gina

  34. on December 13, 2010 at 1:09 pm Tracie

I would love to be included in the giveaway. They would go really well with my cookbook collection to help me find my favourite recipe.

Book Darts! Awesome! That would be a great gift for a pedantic book fiend like my husband, who usually has about 10 on the go at once.
