Little Christmas G1veaway #5

December 11, 2010 by Celia @ Fig Jam and Lime Cordial

And finally, the fifth of our little Christmas g1veaways…

I’ve made Swarovski crystal jewellery for many years now, and these are the last of my crystal angels.  They’re made with vintage Swarovski – the skirt is a very old white givre crystal, dating back at least as far as the 1950s.  These stones are now very rare, particularly in the large 12mm size.  The angel  is only 2½cm (1″) tall (much smaller than the photo above), and she sits on a short cord which lets her dangle from a mobile phone or off the Christmas tree.  I have two of these to g1ve away.

Please εnter by leaving a comment below.  All five g1veaways will close on  Monday 13th December 2010 and you’re welcome to εnter all of them.  Thanks for joining in the fun!

Now this I would love! I love handmade gifts- and this little angel is so sweet! Thank you so much for this little Christmas G!veaway adventure- I’ve enjoyed seeing your choices and reading the comments.
I have a gift away on my site right now- a knitted tea and cup cosy.

You have already given me one of these gorgeous things Celia so I am not entering. They are very Christmasy…like the snow flake earrings. I was just thinking about them today and wondering where I have put them. Time to break them out now that it is officially “almost Christmas”!

That is lovely! I didn’t know that you made jewelry too.

‘Are you sure you’ve got one?’ says knight
‘Yes, it is very nice’ says the french knight.

I won’t include the link (it’s on youtube though) but it’s a line from Monty Python and the Holy Grail – the scene where the French soliders taunt King Authur about having a holy grail.

Celia – I’ve already got one … an angel that is :-)

    Oooh… shiny!

You are so talented! I absolutely love this. I would love to give this away to one of the “angels” that I have in my life. She has saved me on more than one occasion.

I have enjoyed your website via Heidianne’s link to you. Love your recipes that provide adventuresome tastes to our Midwest Illinois family. In fact, my good friend who is on job assignment in Australia is bringing me some of the ginger you talked about, when she is home for Christmas, so we can make lovely confections! The angel is beautiful and would be a reminder of all who are linked all over the world through the common thread of friendship, (and sharing good food :)

Blessings to you during this season!

I’d love a pretty antique crystal to hang in the window or on the tree!

Thank you so much for doing this g1veaway–it’s a lovely example of the Christmas spirit.

Nothing like a little angel…. though I never understood the bit about how many can fit on a pin :) I love the way they sparkle and are shot through with light. Have you ever read Damiano, by R A Macavoy – a lovely angel story set in medieval Italy. It has a great dog in it, a tormented angel and a lutenist and a lapland witch amongst others…

    Hi Celia,
I am new to your blog thanks to networking! I confess to being a fan and collector of both Swarovski crystal and Christmas decorations. People say I couldn’t possibly fit another decoration on my tree but I always prove them wrong. Most of the decorations have special meaning or a story behind them and that little angel would have a very special place on my tree.

What a sweet little Angel – very cleverly put together….

Celia how gorgeous is that! Beautiful.
I can just imagine it glinting in the sun, quietly spinning around.

I just love her simplicity. She would look lovely hanging in front of a window, looking out onto the street.

I love Vera’s comments above – about the people who are linked all over the world, via your blog, through the common thread of friendship. I’d add one other ‘thread’ to that – goodwill. For me, that is what the concept of an angel symbolises – goodwill. And obviously in their downtime they are as prone to doing daft things like the rest of us mere mortals – like trying to see how many of them can stand on a pin! I’ve had such fun, smiles, interest, motivation and stimulation throughout this year starting with your blog Celia, and then bouncing off into the world of others. Thank you for all of that – the goodwill and the virtual friendships.

Oh Celia, how clever you are, as usual I am in awe!

We all need a lovely angel in our lives and this one is just the perfect size to travel with you always!

Many blessing to you and your family for Christmas and the fun festivities that seem endless at this time of year.

We went angel shopping today but couldn’t find one and ended up with a $3 star. Just in the middle of making your chocolate butterfly cakes for my girl’s 2nd birthday tomorrow and she has requested an owl cake from the Womens Weekly Birthday Cake Book – better get back to it…

What a lucky find for me – I stumbled across your blog tonight whilst searching for the Chef Warehouse in Surry Hills and found a link to your Caneles… I can’t wait to make them, they sound amazing!

  23. on December 11, 2010 at 11:35 pm Liz

What a gorgeous little angel! It would look so sweet with the other angels on our Christmas tree. Although I’d be tempted to wear it instead of the cheap flashy Christmas jewelry.
