Christmas Corn

December 25, 2010 by Celia @ Fig Jam and Lime Cordial

This Christmas morning, we went to the backyard and harvested some fresh corn – five cobs for our breakfasts, and four as a Christmas present for our girls.  They enjoyed them enormously and in return, gifted us with three super fresh eggs…

Hope you’re all having a wonderful Christmas Day!

Our doggie got a pack of Schmackos and our cat got a packet of jerky. I wouldn’t like to fall asleep with jerky in my pocket if she was around, I might never get the chance to wake up!
Merry, merry, merry Christmas my friend, have a wonderful day. Love Becca x

Thanks a million dear girl. Still Christmas eve here in the UK. It’s cold and crisp and even. Listening to the Simon and Garfunkel concert in Central Park from way back. Tugs at the heartstrings eh? Best seasonal thoughts and good tidings to all. Les

    Hi Celia!
    Lovely corn!
I just finished making chocolate, was a lot of fun. The children really like it. Enjoy your Christmas.

I remember fondly having a little patch of giant corn plants in the backyard of my parents’ home. There’s nothing like fresh veggies – we had garden tomatoes and basil today.

Sadly my parents veggie patch has shrunk over the years but what is there is wonderful. Your children are very lucky!

I’m guessing that corn-fed hens produce rich yellow yolks.

Now that’s what I call a fair trade! On Christmas day, my mum sent us home with a big bucket full of scraps for our girls and hubby was estimating just how many eggs that handsome bucket of scraps would be turned into, lol! :)

Hi Celia & family, Merry Christmas. I wish I had more mobility to try those great recipes.
Mind you we had West Coast (NZ) whitebait for breakfast, a lovely glazed ham on fresh baked bread for lunch then Christmas dinner with the neighbours – they brought everything over. Beef Wellington but Pete had done lime & wasabi tuna with avocado for entree. It was great.

    Hi Celia,
Just wondering where you get your chocolate moulds from, I cant seem to find the Golden Ticket Mould anywhere?………Where do you find the time to make all these wonderful creations?

Hi Tracey, Happy New Year! I bought the moulds from Candyland Crafts in the US – the link is here: http://www.candylandcrafts.com/Catalog/kidsk9.htm

      Cheers, Celia
