In My Kitchen has grown enormously (and gloriously) over the past few months, with nearly fifty bloggers joining in the November gathering! I’m not big on rules (which is why we don’t have a set format or badges), but it’s now becoming quite a bit of work to handle, so I have a couple of administrative requests to make.
- Firstly, if you write an IMK post and would like to have it added to the list, please remember to link back to our blog. This ensures that your readers get a chance to peek into other bloggers’ kitchens as well. Please leave a comment or let me know via twitter once your post is live and I’ll add it to the listing. Don’t count on the WordPress pingback function to let me know – it’s quite unreliable and I’d hate to miss your post!
- Secondly, in order to make it a bit more manageable on my end, please upload your IMK post by the 10th of each month. This ensures that it will be on the list for at least a couple of weeks and therefore have maximum exposure. It will also enable me to schedule my time a little better.
Many thanks!

In my kitchen…
…is the legendary Lingham’s chilli sauce. This sweet hot sauce has usurped Sriracha as Big Boy’s new favourite…
In my kitchen…
…there are cake boards. There are cake boards e-ver-y-where…(she says, spinning her head like Woody in Toy Story).
On a recent visit to Southern Cross Supplies, I passed a pallet loaded with packets of sturdy boards. I was told that they were “off the books”, and being sold at $2 – $3 per packet. Each packet had between 25 large and 200 small boards. Given that cake boards can be several dollars each, I bought as many as my car could carry, and then started sharing them out with my blogger mates.
This is just part of the pile that went to Charlie and Lorraine. Tania drove over to pick hers up! The only thing better than a bargain is when you get to share it with people you love…
In my kitchen…
…are Linda’s fabulously prolific yellow cherry tomatoes. These have grown so well in our garden – they’re very hardy and seem to be wilt-resistant. We’ve been eating a bowlful every night with dinner for weeks, and the plant is still making more fruit…
In my kitchen…
…is a crock of crumbled English stilton cheese. Never having seen it sold like this before, I couldn’t resist picking up one to try when we were last at Costco…
…it has a wax seal! I love the warning not to throw it on the fire…
In my kitchen…
…is maple butter! Many years ago, a friend gave us some as a gift, and we scraped every last skerrick out of the jar. So when I heard that the lovely Lorraine was going to Canada, I literally begged her to buy us some more. Which she did, bless her, even though her luggage was already overweight…
In my kitchen…
…are a couple of days’ worth of Blue Lake climbing beans. These self-seeded beauties have been an absolute joy in the garden…
In my kitchen…
…is the cover of Charlie’s husband’s Christmas album. Carl is a fabulous Elvis impersonator with a gorgeous crooning voice. We popped the CD into the player in the car as soon as Charlie gave it to us, and it’s been there ever since.
I love it so much that I’ve been playing it constantly – Pete, as you can imagine, is less than impressed at the prospect of listening to the same thirteen Christmas tunes for the entire month of December…
In my kitchen…
…are these very cute mini tart pan liners. They were also on the clearance pallet at Southern Cross Supplies, for just $2 per 1,000. I picked up a couple of packets each for Carol and I – they’re perfect for her chocolate freckles…
In my kitchen…
…was a five kilo box of Empress cherries from Young. Every year, Small Man’s great Aunt Liz buys him a box for Christmas, and he proceeds to eat almost all of them on his own. Empress is a delicious, early cropping variety…

How cool, Celia! Fifty bloggers joining the party! Very nice…
guess what? I am joining it again this month, two months in a row… WOW!
Loved your round up this month, that maple butter is making me swoon….
Sally, isn’t it great? I get up every morning and make a cup of tea and visit friends’ kitchens.. :)
Oh the cherries! And the green beans! I am so absolutely envious of the fresh produce. I bought some Blue Stilton cheese when I was visiting my sone in England years ago- and I buy it around here when I see it- but nothing comes close to to English Stilton!
I’m going to try to do a post- I’ve been slightly under the weather- but hopefully I can come up with some decent stuff in my kitchen!
Thanks again, Celia, for sharing and hosting this feature- I love IMK!
Heidi, I’m sorry to hear you haven’t been well! But I so appreciate that you always join in every month – it wouldn’t seem like an IMK gathering without you! xxx
ah, the cherries! will have to wait till summer (long way off around here) for those. Love the cute tart liners. Also love this “in my kitchen” series
Azita, please feel free to join in if you’d like! I love peeking into your kitchen already – you always have the most wonderful and (to me) exotic ingredients! :)
You know … I’d love to! Thank you for the invite, Celia! :)
Can it really be December already? I’ll have to look for Lingham’s chilli sauce, the manufacturer of the Sriracha we buy is under pressure to stop production Irwindale, CA due to people complaining its poluting the air an causing health issues, which could cause the price to go up. :/
I love seeing the harvest from your garden … I miss my garden produce, but appreciate being reminded of what will return.
What a great Christmas album that must be! With Thanksgiving behind us, I am now ready to bring out the Christmas tunes. Wish I had this one to add to our collection.
Wow, 50 bloggers participating in IMK … it is a ton of fun and I have really enjoyed meeting new blogging buddies along the way. I count you and many others among my blessings.
Judy, I’m so glad you join in, it’s lovely peeking into you kitchen and gazing out your back window. My friend Lisa spent a morning reading IMK posts, and she rang me and said, “Judy’s post even had a BEAR in it!!”. :)
Pete would dearly love me to send you our Christmas tunes album. He is sick to death of it already, I won’t stop playing it. And I hope you find the Linghams, it’s quite delicious, but sweeter than the Sriracha.. xx
http://savoringtoday.com/2013/12/05/in-my-kitchen-december-2013/ just posted. :) The bear, Ha! Thankfully, the bears are all hybernating, except for those at the zoo … this morning they posted photos of them dipping in the water yesterday; it’s only 5°F out there! Fur coat or not, that’s cold!
Oh those cherries look amazing!
I have been wondering about your wonderful “in my kitchen series” thank you for clearing things up and congrats on the 50! :)
I love reading your post every month, it feels like I am over for a visit and we’re chatting over a cup of tea :)
Sawsan, you know that we’d all LOVE to have you joining in, don’t you? :) But only if you feel like it.. x
Celia, I LOVE a bargain! Those cake boards are fantastic and so cheap. What a find!!!
I am very impressed with your self sown beans. I have sown three plants (I am trying not to overdo things this summer) I hope they do as well.
Here is the link to my post. Have a great month. http://passionfruitgarden.com/2013/12/01/in-my-kitchen-december-2013/
Glenda, oh Glenda, the cake boards!! Oh how I wish you had been there with me. Then you and I would have loaded the entire pallet into the back of my car! Boards that retail for $5-6 were going at 12c each! :)
I love the mix of home grown, and store bought (with those absolute bargains!!)
Will try to do a post in the next few days, we just had a shopping trip for Sri Lankan groceries, very exciting.
Oops, *store* bought. Darn phone keyboards!
Ooh Sri Lankan groceries sound exciting, where did you get them? We have a fabulous Indian spice store that we buy from, they’re Sri Lankan, and their homemade curries induce fire breathing! :)
We ended up going to Spiceland art the Flemington shops. And a couple of other shops, because how could you stop at one? :-P The shop owners looked at the ingredients and said, ah, you are making that cake!
Sri Lankan curries, real home made one, are still on my list of things to try, I’ve heard about their legendary spiciness! :-D
I’ve only just discovered Flemington shops – aren’t they amazing! Next time you’re up that way, you should go a bit further down Parra Rd and visit Harkola as well! :)
Yep, after reading your post about visiting Harkola, well be going there soon! :-)
Some very good finds!
Thanks Francesca! :)
[…] Well that’s what it’s like every month when Celia at Fig Jam and Lime Cordial hosts In My Kitchen. Cooks from around the world allow you to peek into their kitchens, pantries, and lives. Plus, […]
Celia, just noticed my pingback beat me to the comment section, lol! I certainly understand your need to implement a deadline for IMK posts… it’s the holidays and you have a LIFE. Every month!!! Do what you need to do, my dear… fine by me, too. (I’m actually posting in November here yet — next week is mind-boggling.)
Your post is so chock full of goodies, I feel like I’m peeking into Santa’s bag early… Stilton… hot sauce… maple butter… fresh produce… and Charlie’s hubby’s CD?? Would love to find those under the tree! The best part was reading about your lovely, benevolent spirit — sharing “finds” with friends. To me, that’s what IMK is about and you blessed my holidays greatly with yours.
Kim, thank you for your kind words, IMK is a joy to manage, but I need to make sure it stays that way and doesn’t turn into a chore! It’s interesting – some years Christmas seems to come late to our house, but this year it’s arrived with great enthusiasm at the beginning of the month! Hooray, I love that! :)
Congratulations on the success of IMK, Celia – I know everyone loves it! And I love maple butter too. Lorraine is not the only one who came home with extra baggage from Canada this year – I bought a whole extra bag to cope with my maple purchases!
Amanda, the maple butter is like gold, we adore it! I can’t believe you brought back an entire BAG full of maple syrup products!
I love cherries this time of year, its a sign to me that Christmas is on its way and its time to start celebrating. I’m going to have to try out that hot sauce being a house hold of chilli lovers we are always looking for new chilli enhancements in our kitchen :-) Just finishing off my post for this months share, I do love getting a sneak peek into everyone’s kitchens and was overwhelmed with the wonderful feedback from people popping over to check out mine.
Leah, can’t wait to look into your kitchen! And the Linghams is well worth searching out – it’s sweet, so slightly reminiscent of a Thai Chilli Sauce, but much richer in flavour (and not as sweet).
Celia, you are like the mother hen of the IMK collection and I concur with Amanda, congratulations on your wonderful initiative, which is shared around the world! Such a great roundup of goodies in your kitchen this month… loving that CD! The bits and pieces from Southern Cross are cool…. and aren’t the cherries great this year!
PS… love Dr Who!!! We saw The Day of the Doctor in 3D at the cinema. What fun!
Lizzy, the cherries were spectacular – they only lasted a week at our house! I didn’t even have any leftover to cook with! And Doctor Who was amazing!! xx
[…] hope you’ve enjoyed reading it as much as I have enjoyed sharing it with you. It’s all thanks to Celia at Fig Jam and Lime […]
Celia, you do such a fantastic job at hosting this series, thank you for all the effort you put in every month. It is by far my absolute favourite blog post to read and contribute to. Cudos to you :)
Another great IMK post, what a bargain those cake boards are! I wonder if there is any left!
Charlies hubby’s CD looks like a hoot! Love the cover, its hysterical!
my IMK post for December is here :)
http://gourmetwog.wordpress.com/2013/12/01/in-my-kitchen-december-2013/
Lisa, give Southern Cross supplies a call, they may have had more stock out the back. But if they do, PLEASE don’t tell me. :) Carl’s CD is fabulous! Thanks for joining in every month! xx
Still not much going on in my kitchen so I love living vicariously through others :) Fantastic bargains you managed to pick up. I love the Stilton. We had a yellow tomato like that last year that just wouldn’t stop producing. I actually froze some of the cherry toms whole in the end and then used them in dishes through winter. They worked well. Fingers crossed my Blue Lakes are as productive as yours. Thanks once again for sharing and your fantastic series.
Tania, the yellow tomatoes are amazing – freezing them is a great idea, if there was room in the freezer! It’s pretty full at the moment, leading up to Christmas! :) Here’s my post on the perennial leeks that we were talking about recently:
https://figjamandlimecordial.com/2011/11/25/perennial-leeks/
Love that this has grown to such a large gathering Celia. You have made it a success with your honest steady friendships around the globe x there is one thing I haven’t tried or seen and it is this ,maple butter. I thought you were going to say it was from Costco….. damn. Lets talk about bargains, yes Celia you did bag a bargain this month and we all shared the bounty. Thank you. Also I entirely missed that the CD you have on high rotation was Charlie’s husband Carl!. How did I miss that? He is a very convincing Elvis. Ill have to go for a ride around the block so I can hear it!!
Thanks darling. Remind me to pull the maple butter out of the fridge so you can try it when you come over. Carl’s CD is fabulous! xx
As someone not in IMK may I still say I have used Lingham’s chilli sauce forever, and love the beans and the early cherries and would oh so like to have that Stilton in my hands!! Happy pre-Christmas!!!!!!
Thanks Eha! Isn’t the Linghams just amazing, can’t believe it’s taken us this long to find it! :)
Now joining in with you is on my list of New Year’s Resolutions, Celia:) About that Sriracha, my son tells me their factory is being shut down!! So I’ll have to look for the bottle you’ve show us here. Horrors, no hot sauce!! Love the cherries.. if there is a Santa, I’d love to see a crate of these under the tree:D And finally.. I’m embarrassed to admit I haven’t tried maple butter yet.. and I’m Canadian;)xx
Barb, Judy mentioned that about the Sriracha as well! Hopefully they’ll find another place to make it, or improve their production methods. You made me smile about the maple butter, there are tons of Aussie things I’m yet to do! :)
[…] again, thanks to Celia from Fig Jam and Lime Cordial for her In My Kitchen series; last month there was almost 50 #Kitchens to peek […]
G’day Celia! Another great month in your kitchen Celia! My post is now live!
http://whatsonthelist.net/2013/12/01/in-my-kitchen-december-2013/
Love your cherries, tart liners and while I am not a big fan of Stilton, I will look forward to what with it you do! I happen to love yellow tomatoes too! Thanks for this month’s kitchen view! Cheers! Joanne
Jo, I’m just eating the stilton with a spoon! No-one else in the house likes it either, so it’s alll miiiine.. :) Lovely to peek into your Christmas kitchen! xx
Hi Celia, you are the most awesome of shoppers, what a bargain cake board can be such ridiculous prices! I’m waiting on an order of panettone cases and they were very cheap so I hope they will be right lol
What a brilliant present the cherries are!
oh and btw OMG how good was Doctor Who?!?!? I keep thinking if they can manage to undo that big a detail surely they can bring Donna back hehe
cheers
Jason
Jase, you can imagine Pete’s face when I arrived home with a boot full of cake boards. Panettone cases – I have some, but am yet to build up the nerve to try baking any! And Doctor Who – I can’t tell you how excited I was about that episode! But they can’t bring back Donna without completely disrupting her married life, right? Old Donna would leave her hubby and climb back into the Tardis..
Maple butter is just divine; the local organic shop keeps some……right next to the roasted macadamia butter; I’m addicted to both.
Elaine, I’m really excited to hear that it’s starting to be available locally – I haven’t seen it yet, but I’ll look out for it!
I would love a box of cherries as a gift and how wonderful of Lorraine to bring you back some maple butter. My post will be live at 8am my time xxx
Tandy, isn’t Lorraine a sweetheart? She was so busy, so I knew it was going to take effort for her to buy and pack it, but she did anyway, bless her.
I wish I could have brought you back more! If I see some on my December trip, do you want some more maple butter? :D And thank you so much for my cake boards!!
You were so kind to bring me back the first jar, and I’m treasuring it, so please don’t go to any trouble this trip. But thank you! xx
Hi Celia, it really is interesting to see all the different things that people have, such a wonderful idea. Hubby is Canadian so he introduced me to maple butter years ago and we always come back with so many jars of it. Just to let you know recently we have started to find it in shops in Sydney, we have seen it at Peters of Kensington, Harris Farm and also the IGA in Glebe. When we ran out a few years ago we made it ourselves, you heat maple syrup up then you whip it until it creams. It does take quite a bit of syrup though to make a little jar :)
Stefanie, thank you! I’m often in Glebe, so I’ll check out the IGA there!
So many great bargains this month Celia. Isn’t it wonderful that it’s cherry season is finally here, it really must be Christmas!
In my kitchen certainly has grown, and it’s great that it’s taken on a life of its own. I think the ground rules are very sensible, we don’t need you being run ragged by the rest of us every month :) xox
Thanks darling! And haven’t the cherries been sublime this year – a great relief given the bizarre weather we’ve had! x
Great post, Celia! And I love how the Christmas album has made it into an IMK post. It’s definitely time to start the Christmas music – sorry Pete! I love how Lorraine managed to bring back that maple butter for you – you’ll treasure that jar. Just letting you know my IMK post will be up in about half an hour. We’ve been away for the weekend and have come home to Miss Arabella having a party! xx
Charlie, I hope Arabella tidied up afterwards for you! Thank you again for my wonderful cake, love! xx
Your kitchen is fabulous! We had 15 Christmas songs on repeat today, J wasn’t impressed but I just kept singing!
Clare, too funny! J and Pete could commiserate… :)
I just love the cherries at this time of year, when we lived in Jindabyne we would pick them off the tree just by our back door. We were so lucky, all we had to do was net the tree so the birds would not steal all the fruit!
Serena, can’t imagine how glorious it must have been to have a cherry tree in your backyard!
Wow! Fifty IMK participants! What great fun! As always, so many amazing things. What fabulous finds at your supply store, a good bargain is hard to pass up, isn’t it.
Thanks for all you do Celia, for making this In My Kitchen series happen!
Pamela, it was a bargain I couldn’t walk away from, even though the young girls at the wholesalers were laughing at me! :D
[…] here at Fig jam and Lime Cordial , Celia’s blog for other IMK […]
Love that Lingham’s Chili Sauce – our local caribbean ship sells it and I am currently working my way through a bottle of chili and ginger sauce from them..it’s soooo good :)
Chica, that’s good to know, thank you – I saw the ginger one but didn’t buy it. I will next time!
Celia, my December IMK is up! Wish we could hear Charlies husbands cd!
I wish you could too – he’s a very convincing Elvis!
I’ve never seen Stilton sold crumbled either. Makes the whole digging it out with a spoon a little easier. Love the maple butter and the enormous quantity of cherries, think of all that chutney you could make using Charlie’s recipe. GG
GG, first time I’ve seen crumbled Stilton too! It’s delicious and conducive to eating with a spoon! The cherries were gone in a week – none leftover for cooking of any sort! :)
Thanks for the reminder that we’re into a new month again Celia! I have so much catching up to do on everyone’s posts & I’ve been saving yours for when I can sit with a nice cup of coffee and catch up on what you’ve been doing. I just posted my In My Kitchen – YES!
What an incredible find on those cake boards & how nice of you to share them with your friends.
Now I absolutely love that crock of cheese – the cheese would be great but what I want is to find crocks like that for storing flour, sugar, etc. on my counter. I know I’ve seen them everywhere before I did the kitchen but now that I could actually use them I can’t find them anywhere. We have a store called Home Goods that has great things like that & I’m hoping to find them there but it’s hit or miss. I do love that warning & have included some warnings for my new appliances in my post – just in case you were thinking of standing on your dishwasher door for some reason.
I love cherries but I’m afraid it’ll be a while before we see them here.
I must have had too much Thanksgiving turkey this weekend…forgot to list the link to my IMK post: http://dianeskitchentable.wordpress.com/2013/12/01/in-my-kitchen-december-2013-yes-i-have-a-working-kitchen/
For some reason I was also having trouble getting your link working but it seems to have corrected this morning. Having a cup of coffee while catching up on all the posts from the past week then off to get a procedure to hopefully correct this nasty sciatic back pain.
I’m sorry to hear about your sore back! Hope it’s sorted soon. And you made me laugh out loud about the dishwasher door – a friend of mine from the US once bought some shades for the front windscreen of his car, and they came with a warning, “do not drive with shades in place”. :)
I got my steroid shots yesterday in the spine & it’s like a miracle! Can’t believe I’ve been crawling around with this pain since May.
OMG, now I’m cracking up – do not drive with shades in place. Around here I think we’ve got some drivers who drive like they do.
Amazing things in your kitchen again! What a bargain on the cake boards! Yum! Fresh cherries!
Thanks Manuela! And yes, it’s cherry season again here, which means Christmas is just around the corner!
There’s always so much interesting stuff going on in your kitchen. I was just looking at buying a boxes of cherries as presents for my brothers – 5kg is a LOT of cherries though! I was looking at 2.5kg and thinking that was a lot!
Do people really have to be told not to eat the wax seal on the cheese? Really?!
My post is up – thank you for hosting Celia I’m sure it’s a lot of work but we all enjoy a good snoop don’t we!
http://www.jamjnr.com/2013/12/in-my-kitchen-december-2013/
Nancy, made me laugh too, but I guess folks do need to be warned! 2.5kg of cherries is a lot for normal people, but Small Man is a cherry guzzling monster! :D
I wonder how long before maple sugar hits the shops here. I noticed coconut sugar in Wollies the other day. Thanks again for hosting – you are doing a fab job.
My ImK post is up: http://www.gustoso.com.au/blog/challenge/in-my-kitchen-december-2013/
Thanks Emma! Coconut sugar is an old staple in Malaysian cuisine, we love it!
Your maple butter looks very like the maple cream I brought back from NYC. That I have hidden in the back of the fridge from prying sweet-tooths :)
Love the Stilton – once again, can’t wait for Costco to open in Brisbane.
Love the tomatoes too – ours are very prolific right now – so far it’s 1 for the possums, 3 for us :)
Mel, you’re so going to love Costco! I reckon all you Brissie bloggers could make a field day of it! :) Glad you’re getting lots of tomatoes too!
I think we are going to have a blogging party on opening day :)
Congratulations on the success of IMK – you tapped into a curiosity and kitchen voyeurism there! Will do my best to join this month.
Sally, I’ve been eating lots of English cheese this month – I thought of you! We’ve had West Dorset cheddar from Wookey Hole! :)
Hi Celia, I have just done an IMK post. what fun. I am using this comment page to inform you as I’m not sure how else to do so. F
Thanks so much for joining in!
[…] to come. To join in the fun of sharing what’s in your kitchen this morning, pop over to Fig Jam and Lime Cordial for […]
Hi Celia
My mouth is watering after reading your post! That Stilton cheese – keep some – I’m on my way over!
My post for December is here http://apricottart.blogspot.com.au/2013_12_01_archive.html .
Thank you so much for the privilege of being able to contribute to this series! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family, and to all your IMK contributers!
Marian, it’s so great to have you joining in, thank you!! Best wishes to you for a fabulous festive season as well! x
Celia, it looks like the ping-back worked from my post, so you can delete that if you wish. My post for December is at http://miskcooks.com/2013/12/02/in-my-kitchen-december-2013/
Now, to your goodies for the month! Look at those cherries! Deary me. Makes my mouth water and sets me daydreaming about summer. A very happy Christmas to you and your family, Celia.
Misky darling, hope you’re having a wonderful December already! Going to grab a cup of tea and peek into your kitchen today! xx
It’s looking pretty good so far, Celia, but I haven’t started Christmas shopping yet. Yikes!
You get the best bargains! I might just have to move down there :) I can’t wait for the cherries to show up in the shops.
Come on down, baby! Bring dosh. :)
Wow such lovely fresh produce and some great bargains – do you reuse the cake boards – I bought my first one recently but it was huge – a selection like yours would have been fantastic. Cherries, maple butter and stilton cheese sound just perfect for some festive eating.
And your guidelines sound quite reasonable – it is probably a good time to thank you for all the work you do on In My Kitchen – I really love this event – both participating and peeking into others kitchens.
Here is my IMK post for this month: http://gggiraffe.blogspot.com.au/2013/12/in-my-kitchen-december-2013-and-my.html
Johanna, the foiled boards can be wiped down and reused a couple of times, depending what has been on them. The white cardboard ones less so, they tend to pick up oil stains. And you’re very kind, I love that we’re always getting to visit your kitchen every month! :)
How exciting to have nearly 50 contributors Celia and all thanks to you!
I love a good bargain too and would probably be bankrupt if I had to come and visit you as I would not be able to leave without visiting the fabulous stores you have there.
My IMK post will be live tomorrow morning 7am – well that’s my 7am.
Have a super day.
:-) Mandy xo
Mandy, could you imagine? You and I would hit the food supply stores, and my Pete could take your Pete to the motorcycle shop! :D Will look out for your post! xx
[…] hard to believe that I last posted a month ago. Thanks to Celia for graciously hosting the IMK series and keeping me going with the In My Kitchen Posts, otherwise […]
[…] This snowman is not in my kitchen but I could not resist, so cute it is. This post is part of Celia’s In My Kitchen Series from Fig Jam Lime Cordial. […]
Congratulations on a super popular gathering of bloggers! So many treats in your kitchen this month…having a hard time picking out a favorite of mine from your collection.
ps. my post is now up. :)
Laila, hooray! Can’t wait to see what’s happening for Christmas in your part of the world! :D
[…] Once again, I’m joining Celia who hosts In My Kitchen at Fig Jam & Lime Cordial. […]
I’m drooling over those cherries. We had a fantastic year for cherries but it seems sooo long ago now. Enjoy your stilton – we sometimes get one of these at Christmas time and use the last of it to make Stilton & Celery soup, which is very welcome on a chilly January day in England, but probably less welcome in the sweltering heat of Sydney.
Congratulations on the success of IMK and for keeping the rules so minimal! Anne x
My IMK post should be up.
Anne, you’re a kindred spirit, I think that every time I read one of your comments. Thanks for always joining in with the fun, especially this month when I know you’re flat out busy! :)
Cherries aaahh! We used to live among the cherry orchards, beautiful all year round, the blossom, the autumn colours, the bare branches and of course the fruit! Do you ever make cherry brandy? MY December IMK was posted today, thanks for hosting this incredibly interesting venture. ,:-)
That must have been an amazing place to live! And no, never made cherry brandy, because I never manage to hang on to cherries in this house long enough to cook with! :)
Please add me in to the IMK list too please Celia- look how many of us there are already! xox
Hooray! Have added you onto the list, love! xx
Maple butter! How wonderful. The cherries are also wonderful :)
I have been amazed (in a good way) at the increase in IMK posts of late. I think having the 10th as a cut point is an excellent idea; I shall endeavour to get my post up and sent to you by then for this month!
Thanks Kari, look forward to peeking into your kitchen again this month! :)
Here it is! http://www.bitesizedthoughts.com/2013/12/in-my-kitchen-december-2013-birthday.html
It’s going viral Celia!!!!!! Your tomatoes look gorgeous – I love being able to duck out the back and pick one or two as I need them!
My post is up! http://absolutelyjas.com.au/post/2013/12/03/my-kitchen-december
Lol. That should be “I’ve just started harvesting my own and I love being able to duck out the back and pick one or two as I need them.” I’m sure I’d love to be able to go out the back and pick a couple of your tomatoes too ;)
Jas, I’ve got more tomato photos coming in the next post! :)
I also just bought maple butter,..the real good stuff from Canada! It is great on sourdough toat, is it not? That chili sauce looks good too!
Sophie, it’s like liquid gold! It’s delicious.. :)
I like the sound of that! :) x
a crock of cheese? Oh how cool is that! That’s serious cheese :-)
Great to hear how much your ‘in my kitchen’ posts have grown, well done lovely. xxx
Brydie, you can see why I couldn’t resist it, right? It’s good cheese too! Thanks for all your support! :)
You really are to be congratulated for the success of IMK, Celia. I can easily understand the need to get a little more organized and the sooner you start, the better it will be for all. Small Man’s no fool. Those cherries look fantastic and would make a great treat. We should all have an Aunt Liz in our lives. :)
John, you’re very kind, but it’s kind of grown all by itself! It’s been so much fun to spend time in each other’s kitchens though – will we get a peek into yours one of these days? xx
Those tart cases are the ticket – I’ve never seen them before. And a bargain to boot. I wish I knew the secret to tomatoes – can’t seem to get them to grow. I’m currently tending some tear drop seedlings so we’ll see what eventuates. Wish there was a Cotsco near us as they seem to have lots of goodies but it’s a while to wait before one opens in Qld. Probably just as well as that Stilton would be to hard to resist I’m afraid. Thanks for hosting Celia.
Fiona, I thought Costco was opening soon in Brisbane! I’ve never seen any tart cases like those either, which is why I bought up! :)
Gorgeous green beans and gorgeous cherries; I’m drooling! Lovely post and LOVE you, Celia! And I love all the bloggers who come together here, to share ideas. Your maple butter would be an amazing addition to breakfast. I will look for it.
Here’s me for December: http://auntshoe.blogspot.com/2013/12/in-my-kitchen-december-2013.html. Peace and blessings to all! xox
Thanks for playing Marianne, it’s lovely to catch up with your kitchen every month! :) Hope all the Christmas preparations are going well.. x
My cake boards are still in the boot of my car – I am too scared to take them out and try and find somewhere to ‘hide’ them! I have used 2 though…now about 198 left to go….
I bought that Stilton recently too as I was craving some of the amazing stilton I had in London from Neal’s Yard Dairy. I have to say that the Clawson does not even come close. Oh I need to stop thinking about how amazing those Stiltons were or I will start the craving again…. (why can’t we make cheese like that her in Australia?!!)
Did you go to the car and get two boards out and leave the rest in the boot? You’re too funny! :) Agree the Clawson’s isn’t the best Stilton I’ve tried, but the little pot was too cute to resist!

Good morning Celia. Wow, this tour has grown. The new guidelines sound great.
A girl can never have enough cake boards and there are probably 101 uses for them once you start to think about it. Those tomatoes and beans look like perfect, garden goodness! The maple butter sounds delicious, Lorraine is obviously a dedicated food friend.
What a lovely aunt to give cherries for Christmas, great idea! My post is linked, thanks for hosting our kitchens once again.
Jane, I just had a quick look at your post, and I thought, “Darn, I wish I could have given Jane some cake boards!” :) Aunt Liz is the best, and Small Man is thrilled every season! xx

Hi Celia, here’s my IMK post: http://wp.me/p26KJv-qR
I’ve just had a quick but lovely browse through Southern Cross Supplies website… ooh the possibilities :) Yum, green beans and yellow cherry toms. And cherries of course, means Christmas is almost here :)
Your kitchen looks like it is filled with many wonders. I think my favorite would have to be the blue stilton cheese. That looks like it would be a great container afterwards.
