We’ve been having great fun in the kitchen this Easter!
Chocolate on a stick makes less mess…
That’s the theory, but no-one explained it to young Evan…
My kitchen is littered with dirty bowls and Easter moulds…
Fancy chocolate shops have expensive polycarbonate moulds and vibrating machines. I have plastic moulds, bulldog clips, and sons who’ve become quite adept at shaking…
This year’s rocky road is dark chocolate, ginger, cranberries, toasted macadamias and passionfruit marshmallows…
We’ve baked two dozen sourdough hot cross buns…
…and three dozen yeasted hot cross buns…
Monkey Girl took over cross piping duties this year…
Passionfruit marshmallows – two fresh egg whites and a tin of passionfruit pulp resulted in a mountain of these…
Big Boy was on hand to help with the clean-up!
Wishing you all a very happy Easter!
Happy Easter Celia and please let me know if you are selling the Rocky Road, sounds really yummy & & & it has passionfruit marshmallows. Swoon!
Looks like loads of sugary fun. Happy Easter! xxx
What a wonderfully happy Easter you are having! How particularly wonderful to have all (sticky) hands on deck for mixing, shaking, tasting and dare I say, washing up????
The Rocky Road looks delicious! Thank you Celia, and wishing you all a very happy Easter.
That Rocky Road is marvelous! Ginger, macadamias, cranberries……yum!! Gorgeous little Evan – what a gorgeous face!
That all looks magnificent. I’ve never thought of or tried passionfruit marshmallows. They must be yummy.
Very professional piping monkey girl!
So lovely :) Happy Easter to you ALL; Thanks and Love, nia
Amazing! And look at little Evan’s happy face. I do love marshmallow. …time to have a go at making some I think. Wishing you all a very, very Happy Easter Celia xx
Haha, on first glance I thought that was a huge smear of chocolate on Big Boy’s T-shirt. :)
I used paper clips {stretched} ha! when using moulds for chocolate making in the 80’s
Celia your Rocky road is to do for Sunday
You are too awesome :)
Happy Easter to you and your family x
Oh, oh, oh, I was enjoying all the chocolate goings on until I saw your passionfruit marshmallows and now I can’t think of anything else.
Happy Easter to you all.
happy easter celia – all your chocolate and baking looks wonderful – I am missing home made hot cross buns this year and would give anything just to smell yours coming out of the oven
No one is ever too old or too cool to lick the beater!!!
All your Easter goodies look fab! Your moulded chocolate looks like expensive ones you’d buy in the shops! Oh Evan is so sweet and looks very happy with himself munching on the chocolate! My hubby is the one who is always on hand to lick the spoons and bowls, he’s a big kid. Happy Easter and remember to hang one of your hot cross buns from your Kitchen ceiling. This is supposed to ward off evil spirits and make sure that your bread rises perfectly for the rest of the year!
Easter deliciousness!
Happy Easter, Celia and family. What I wouldn’t give for some of your Rocky Road! Ah, well, guess I will just have to resign myself to watching our friend and handyman install my new kitchen. Then I will try out my Easter ideas.
It all looks so wonderful, happy Easter
Can I help clear up please? I’m very good at licking bowls clean. Happy Easter Celia x
I made hot cross buns from your tested recipe yesterday. So delicious, thanks Celia.
The hot cross buns look superb! I’m making hot cross buffins later today. Happy Easter!
oh what fun times Happy Easter!
Two things:
1. I’ll be right over; and
2. What a little doll.
Happy Easter
Sounds like a great Easter at your place.
Thank you for the warm Easter laugh: I don’t think I have to wish you anything – you have it all! Admittedly I am still going ‘eeny, meeny, many moe’ about whether I like a grownup son licking a spoon or young Evan wondering what the fuss is all about . . . methinks I’ll ‘tick’ the first :) ! Have a wonderful few days more . . .
Ah, chocolate is always messy for the young ones! What a cute delicious chocolate face it is. Someday I’ll be as good as you and make homemade chocolates for Easter. Tonight it is chocolates from a fancy shoo for dessert with red wine as I’m too lazy and/or busy to make my own!
What a blast! Happy Easter.
Happy Easter, Celia, your easter goodies are just mouth watering.
You know how to prepare for Easter! Do people line up at your door? :-) Happy Easter to you, Celia. I don’t think there’s much doubt it will be! Delicious, for sure!
Oh wow you really made some beauties … as usual. I have to say your boy is looking very grown up and if it’s not too creepy….handsome !
Your hot cross buns look heavenly…Happy Easter!
As always, you make me smile! Although I am not a chocolate lover, I do love the togetherness it brings. I thought for a minute ‘big boy’ had chockie on his shirt but no, just the design. I love seeing Evan doing an almost flash back pose of Big boy! Happy Easter. Golly, those buns look sooooooo delicious.
Happy Easter Celia. Yours is a happy kitchen with Photos to prove it! Womenlivinglifeafter50.com
And a happy Easter to you and your family Celia!
Happy Easter!
Lovely treats in your kitchen. I made hot cross buns as well this year. One is never too old to lick beaters or bowls! Love the picture! 👍
How lovely – little chocolate smooshy face – and big boy has your dimples!
happy easter Celia to you and your family. we’ve had a busy one with family as well
All looking wonderful. Big boy would have had competition for that beater had I been there. I need to bake another batch of your sourdough hot cross buns – the others seem to have gone!
Your kitchen always looks like a baker’s dream! And with your lovely children and visitors it is a true haven of goodness. Thanks for sharing- your post has warmed my heart (and the cockles thereof!).
I love a good marshmallow but the ginger in the rocky road is what has won me over! xxx
I do so love coming around here during holidays, Celia, just to see what treats you’ll be sharing. I must admit, the chocolate covered Little One was a bit of a surprise, though a delightful one, as was the sight of Big Boy.
I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Easter together.
SO MUCH Easter goodness I don’t know where to begin. I love your work Celia, and family x
This is just a photo of happiness!
It looks like everyone had a lot of fun…sticky and delicious fun!
