Crazy Times

March 28, 2020 by Celia @ Fig Jam and Lime Cordial

Hello dearhearts.

I’m sorry I’ve been absent – it’s been a crazy time, as you all know.

It hasn’t all been bad – wonderful Big Boy and Monkey Girl got married at the beginning of February, before all the COVID lockdowns began! It was an incredibly joyous day and thankfully, nobody got sick. I’ll try to write a few posts about the wedding soon and how the kids organised it as sustainably as possible, but in the meantime, I thought you might enjoy this photo.

In this time of flux, I’m going to temporarily change how this blog works.

Rather than writing long posts, I’m going to try and put up a short one every day (if possible), just to say hello and check that you’re all doing well. Hope that’s ok with you – I don’t have the energy at the moment to do much else!

Take care, talk soon. xx

Oh how nice to hear from you Celia! I am sure I’m not the only one to have missed your blog.
What a lovely photo of the happy couple. I wish them a life together full of joy and wonderful experiences.
Meantime, everyone stay put and stay safe.

Congratulations! A gorgeous photo! A radiant couple, perfect weather, vibrant colors in the flowers. Even the water in the background is a beautiful blue hue.
I was hoping you were all doing well. Things here are fine as well. Take care!

Celia, how wonderful to hear from you. I was just thinking about you the other day and how your posts always gave me such happiness. I’m so pleased we will hear from you again to brighten up these dark days ❤️

Hi Celia! Long time reader here although I’ve never commented before. Lovely to see a post from you. I made your hot cross buns this morning – they are my family’s favourites and this is the third year running we have made them now! Your microwave custard is also one of our staples, my son in particular loves it.

Hope you are keeping as well as can be amid the chaos xx

So glad to hear from you. The wedding picture is beautiful. I am wondering how the Coronavirus is affecting how you manage to live sustainably. With all of the takeout food and the impracticality for them to let you bring in your own cup or take-out dishes, I know the landfills will fill up more quickly. I’m also concerned about all of the water rushing down the drains during the strongly recommended 20 second hand washing.

    congratulations to the beautiful couple!

So lovely to hear your voice Celia. Beautiful photo and what perfect weather! I looked up your bag making post only last week because my daughter and I have started making sourdough bread from home for friends, extended friends and family and with these times, we deliver and leave our loaves in those bags that we hang on the folks’ door handles. Thanks you for the guide – so simple and it works a treat. Looking forward to your posts. Stay safe. Carol (you don’t know me – I have been a silent follower for years).

In dark days, those lovely young ones shine like the sun. Checking in more often seems to be what bloggers are doing right now, a way of having a community without physical presence. Whatever works for you is OK with the rest of us :-) Zen hugs…

Nice to hear from you Celia and very happy to hear about the kids marriage that is awesome. I know several young couples that don’t know what they are going to do here in Minnesota due to the venues all closing for the next several months. This pandemic has made incredible changes to some many lives around the world. With all the panic shopping going on in our area it has been difficult to get some supplies, but I most recently scored several large bags of flour for baking. Take care and God bless you and your family.
